Opening of Line 5: Chugging into the future
As of February 8th, Line 5 (also known as the Eglinton Crosstown) has finally opened for public use. It’s a welcome addition to the subway network, despite its construction having major impacts on Toronto—it has cost over 12 billion dollars, took 15 years of construction, and is the root cause of many businesses along Eglinton Avenue shutting down. A Night to Glow: Semi-Formal 2026
This year’s semi-formal was nothing short of spectacular. With a glow-in-the-dark theme, students from all grades came together for a night full of music, dancing, and delicious food. The DJ kept the energy high, while students refueled with snacks like fries, mac and cheese, wraps, and candy, along with refreshing drinks. Glow bracelets, glasses, and other accessories lit up the dance floor, making it a vibrant and unforgettable event.

Haig Halloween Recap 2025
Earl Haig students embraced their Halloween psyche throughout the building. Pride Council’s Halloween Ball at lunch featured a blend of fun activities, including pumpkin painting, jamming to music and culminating in a spooktacular costume contest with attendees.
