Student discounts are all around us, but many are unaware of available savings opportunities. Inflation rates increased 6.8% from 2021 to 2022 and the cost of living continues to increase, so don’t miss out on these deals.

First off, SPC cards are a great way to save on your favourite brands. For $12 a year, you get up to 20% off at stores including H&M, Samsung, Urban Outfitters, Calvin Klein, Walmart, and Princess Polly. On average, students save $340 a year when shopping with their SPC card, and student bank accounts with CIBC get free SPC memberships.

Student Beans also allows students up to 20% off different brands. Membership sign-ups are free on their website, and there you can access coupon codes for online checkouts.

Some grocery stores also participate in student discounts for those with a valid student ID. Many Metro locations allow 10% off groceries for students, and every Wednesday Bulk Barn offers 15% off for all students.

In terms of technology, Apple has a 10% student education pricing on certain devices as well as an annual back-to-school sale each summer, where students can save on technology and are given gifts with purchases like gift cards. Dell (in high school) and Lenovo (in university) also offer a 5% student discount when creating a free rewards account.

If you are looking for a fun activity, the ROM has free admission for students with a valid student ID every Tuesday! The AGO is always free for anyone under 25, and so is Soulpepper Theatre for day-of tickets. Amazon Prime also offers a great student deal: a six-month free trial of Prime Video, Music, and free shipping. After that period students only pay $4.99 monthly instead of $9.99. Spotify Premium offers students one month of free listening, followed by $5.99 monthly instead of the normal $12.69. Apple Music costs $5.99 a month for students, with Apple TV included for free. Moreover, your Toronto Public Library Card offers a MAP pass allowing booking-free access to Ripley’s Aquarium and the Toronto Zoo.

Websites like todotoronto.com, springfinancial.ca, and those from GTA universities feature countless student discounts to discover. Remember these deals before going out to save money every day!
